Anime Expo® Announces Morning Musume As First Official Guests Of Honor For 2009 Convention In Los Angeles
Nation’s Largest Anime and Manga Convention Welcomes Japan’s Top Female Group from Hello! Project
Anaheim, California and Tokyo, Japan (February 12, 2009) — With excitement beyond belief, Anime Expo® proudly announces the attendance and performance of Japan’s most celebrated and top all-girl music group MORNING MUSUME (also referred to as “Momusu”) to the nation’s largest anime and manga convention held July 2-5, 2009 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. More information can be found on the website www.anime-expo.org.
The MORNING MUSUME (モーニング娘. Morning Daughter) is a one of a kind all-girl group whose story began in 1997 when Japanese producer TSUNKU♂ held auditions for a female rock vocalist for his band SHARAN Q held on the Japanese TV show ASAYAN. With the five runner-ups from the contest, Tsunku decided to create an all-girl group that sold 50,000 copies of their indies CD single “Ai no Tane” and debuted as MORNING MUSUME. They are the lead group of Hello! Project.
MORNING MUSUME’s first single “Morning Coffee” made a huge splash by hitting the #6 position in the Japanese pop charts within its first week of release. In August of 1998, MORNING MUSUME reached the #1 spot in the Japanese pop charts with their 3rd single “HOLD ON ME”. In 1999, the group had their first nationwide tour with 19 performances in 7 cities for 40,000 fans.
In September of 1999, MORNING MUSUME released their smash hit “Love Machine” that sold 2 million copies and held the first place spot in the Japanese pop charts and stayed 17 weeks on the Oricon Karaoke Chart.
MORNING MUSUME is famous not just for being the Japan’s top female group, but also for its unique approach with the shuffling of members. Producer TSUNKU♂ creates freshness by graduating band members and adding new members to create different units and adds fresh new faces for fans old and new.
In 2007, MORNING MUSUME made a historic impact within the Japanese music industry as the band welcomed new members Jun Jun and Lin Lin from China and began to reach an international audience. In 2008, MORNING MUSUME celebrated their 10th anniversary. MORNING MUSUME is definitely the world’s most famous and successful Japanese all-girl group.
MORNING MUSUME consists of band members Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Eri Kamei, Sayumi Michishige, Reina Tanaka, Koharu Kusumi, Aika Mitsui, JunJun, and LinLin.

ops, sorry...late liao
Mitsui has a solo song? wow, now everyone can "see" her. And from what i heard of Aika on Resonant Live, she sounds really good. Although i don't really like the tracklist since there's only 3?4? new songs....can't wait for it tho.
[EDIT]
The tittle of the album is hillarious, looks like they had already got platinum released which is including all 9 discs in 1 album, imagine if this album got 9 disc inside it....could be the expensive Momusu's album ever released........lol
DISC? at least DISCO is much better than DISC? I hope that was only a typo error....lol

Response
We already knew that H!P Elder Club will graduate from H!P on 31 March 2009, this concert is special for them for letting them go peacefully....lol...tho i totally hated this "big" graduation but yeah, many fans out there said "WTF is wrong with H!P/UFA etc"...but who cares right? There'll be a gradution tho. Ok, what do you think bout the setlist? For me, it's awesome setlist, we can see Otomegumi, Sakuragumi, 1st Gen etc again. That's quite interesting....thank god, the Gokkies, my fav gen did performed Suki na Senpai, actually they didn't performed together as Gokkies for a long time, it has been 6+ years since their first Gokkies perfomance with the same song(2nd performance on Konno's graduation), Suki na Senpai, i really missed them performing together and my wish come true...lol...Gaki san wished that too as she already mentioned it in Hello! Project 2009 Winter Wonderful Hearts Kouen ~ Kakumei Gannen ~ [2009.01.03] Tokyo (Morning) - Takahashi Ai, Niigaki Risa, Tanaka Reina's MC.
I'm pretty sure this concert would be the best concert ever in 2009, but who knows........
Despite repeated assurances by the Papa Tsunku to bring greater professionalism into the musume(all girls in H!P), we still hear of incidents which create distruct and ill-feelings toward the entire H!P.
Over the years, the H!P/UFA has spent millions of yen to enhance the capabilaties of the H!P and upgrade the salaries of its personnel. Logistics has been improved with better sub-groups etc. While "quality" has been adopted as the key motto, there are still many fans out there complained this and that. There should not be any more excuses and culture in the H!P. It's time for Tsunku or anyone that involved took pride and acted as a professional manner so as not to tarnish the image of H!P.
I'm wondering if the majority of the people out there are more into the girls than the actual music. For me, music comes first but their personallities and attitude does matter to me too. Well to be honest their looks do play a big part but i prefer more to music even the singers are ugly and bla...bla...uweeekk.. I enjoy watching the girls because they are incredibly beautiful, full of energy and really fun. Without good songs, they would just be random pretty girls.
The fact that Momusu (H!P in general) is so much more than "just another girl group" makes it special. All the tv appearances, Utabans, Hello Mornings(Haromoni), Okajo specials, surprise english lessons, shuffle units, PVs, concerts, albums, singles etc. make us get to know the girls a lot better than with other groups.
It's basically a mix of both the music and the girls. Without all the stuff I mentioned above, they would probably be "just another girl group/artist", since the music isn't that much different or better than everything else. I really do love the H!P girls. Not just because they're beautiful and adorable but over the years i've gotten to know their personalities. IMO, when good-looking girls sing to that music, it's even better :P
